Product code: A Victorian or Edwardian hotsell antique large porcelain Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma brooch pin 47 mm possibly Shimazu clan

A late 19th or early 20th century antique porcelain Japanese Satsuma brooch. There is a makers stamp on the back but this is slightly faded and in the form of a pattern or symbol. I am not familiar with Japanese makers marks but it may be the Shimazu clan mark. There is minor surface scuffing and tarnish on the metal but nothing major. The front picture depicts two women, possibly Geisha talking in a garden. In the background you can make out the outline of a mountain or volcano. Possibly Mount Fuji? There is crackle on the glaze but the image is good. The outer blue painted border originally had gold spotted decoration all the way around but it is now faded with just some spots still visible. The diameter of the brooch is approx. 47 mm and it weighs 26.93 grams. The metal is not real silver. More pictures upon request. Please take note of measurements as items may look larger in the photos than they actually are. This item will be shipped Royal Mail Signed For in the UK and tracked and/or signed for to everywhere else.

ATTENTION EU BUYERS: As a result of Brexit, please be aware that your government may charge you an import tax and/or customs duty charge when you receive your package from the UK. All European countries have different rules so please check with your tax or customs office before making a purchase. To assure that you receive your purchase quickly, I go to the post office Monday through Saturday and sometimes I go twice a day. I usually only go once on Saturday around 9 am as my local post office shuts at 12.00. If you purchase more than one item, I will combine the shipping and each additional item sent in the UK is £0.50 extra per item and to the rest of the world is hotsell £1.00 extra per item. If I discover that the combined packing and shipping has worked out less than what you paid, I will promptly refund the difference. Please contact me if you wish to discuss combined shipping. As I cannot afford the loss of my items and shipping costs, I ship most items by UK Royal Mail Signed For or International Tracked and/or Signed which ensures that you receive your purchase and which also provides me with proof of delivery. I do not make a profit on the packing and postage price that you pay. You can visit the UK Royal Mail website to confirm that I charge exactly what they charge me plus 40 pence for the packing material that I buy brand new to pack and ship your purchase. I keep my item prices as low as I can instead of artificially inflating them to compensate to give free shipping which is what some other sellers do by using the “Etsy smart pricing tool” which in their words “help you recover postage costs”. Please compare my item prices combined with the shipping costs as a lot of the times it is still less than other sellers who offer free shipping. It is possible that I have inadvertently made a mistake on a shipping price, item price and/or description. If you notice that I have made any mistakes, I sincerely apologise and if you would please bring it to my attention, I will correct it asap. You may cancel your order for any reason within 14 working days of the delivery of your purchase and receive a refund of the item price upon its return excluding the original postage charge. As I am not a big company like Amazon, I am sorry but I cannot afford to offer free returns. I am happy to provide more photos if requested to help you make the best decision before making a purchase. I know how difficult it can be to make a decision about purchasing something that you can only see in photos and cannot see in person. I would suggest that if you have any doubts whether the item will be exactly what you want, reconsider making the purchase as it may be expensive because the buyer is responsible for any customs charges on receiving the item and also any customs charges that the seller may incur if the buyer returns the item. If any unexpected issue should arise please contact me and I will endeavour to resolve it immediately.
