Antique French Book Stack. 'Midnight/Inky Blue' Book Bundle. Boho Book Stack of Antiquarian hotsell Books. Decorative Blue Books. Bookshelf Styling.
This is a stunning set of six antique French books in faded.
This is a stunning set of six antique French books in faded 'Midnight/Inky' blue tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect. They can be used as photo and film props, as well as table centrepieces for boho weddings and shabby chic displays. They have gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.
Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
The six books are all hard cover editions, they are distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose.
The titles are:
Alexandri Magni, Quni Curtii Rufi (1882 edition.) Alexander the Great (Latin "Alexandri Magni") is the only ancient Latin biography of Alexander the Great. It was written by the Roman historian Quintus Curtius Rufus in the 1st-century AD, but the earliest surviving manuscript comes from the 9th century. This wonderful 139 year old book has the original Latin text, with notes, remarks and commentaries in French.
L'année Preparatoire d'Histoire Sainte, TH. Bernard (1920 edition.) A guide to biblical saintes for school children, aged 6-8.
Fénelon, Lettre sur les Occupations de L'Academie Française, M. L. Grenier François de Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon (6 August 1651 – 7 January 1715), was a French Roman Catholic archbishop, theologian, poet and writer. Fénelon's letters to the French Academy was his last writing from 1714.
La Première Année de Rédaction et d'Elocution, I. Carré et L. Moy (1885 hotsell edition.) This 136 year old book studies writing and elocution for 9-11 year old children of the late 1800's.
