Offered here are a very rare pair of matching fighting cocks or rooster planters.
Offered here are a very rare pair of matching fighting cocks or rooster planters. This set of planters is in very good to excellent condition with only a couple of very minor scratches to the finish. Both of these have a "lava" finish and they were designed and created by William Hirsch in 1954. The primary color is a rose pink with gray lava shading and glossy white and metallic gold glazed accents. There are no chips or cracks and each piece measures 10" tall and is 12" wide. I believe these were designed as pocket planters, but when water is poured into the pocket it can be poured out of the mouth, like a pitcher, making them easy to clean. These Stylized Fighting Cocks are "oh so" Mid Century Modern and a must have for anyone who collects Hirsch designs... hotsell
