Vintage hotsell LANCO SWISS Made Gents Watch, WW2 Era, 17 Jewels, ---------Serviced-------

An excellent example of a WW2 Era LANCO from LANGENDORF WATCH CO. of SWITZERLAND.
Langendorf was established in 1873 and remained in existence until 1973, in 1890 they were said to be the largest watch producer in the world, LANCO pieces are very sought after especially from this era.
The steel case is in excellent original condition, measuring 33mm in width excluding what we feel to be the original crown, (Although the crown was worn from use we have chosen to regroove it instead of replacing)
The original dial is superb with a patina especially around the edges, a great vintage look.
The hands we believe to be original. There was once a sweep second hand on this watch, but no longer, see explanation later on.
The crystal is new having been replaced during our service.
The snap on case back is stainless steel.
The movement is a LANGENDORF in house movement but somewhat of a mystery as it is identified as a Cal 1004 with 17 Jewels, however it does not match any reference for a 1004 that we have, it seems if anything to be a slightly different configuration.
On this movement there is an external train wheel that drives the second hand spindle, unfortunately both are missing hence no second hand.
Having said all of that this superb 17 Jewel manual wind movement has been fully serviced and is in fine working order.
The lugs on this case are fixed, as was common in watches from that time, so we have chosen to offer it on an attractive nylon NATO style strap, leather straps can be purchased for fixed lug watches if the new owner so decides.

TPG Vintage Watches has conducted a full restoration of this watch, the movement has been serviced and calibrated to achieve the best possible time keeping for a vintage watch.
