ANTIQUE BROOCH PIN; Edwardian siler and gold, rose gold floral brooch with place for a photo.

A beautiful Edwardian antique silver brooch pin in a circular design was most likely given to a lady as a sweetheart brooch. The brooch has a concave centre with an engraved floral design in applied gold and rose gold. It has a decorative lower border with engraved pattern and rose gold chevrons. The overall design is really lovely and unusual.

The back of the brooch pin has a space where you could put a photo in. I don't think it was meant for this but there is a piece of mica in there which could have a photo placed behind it. It comes out with a pin pushed under it and would need to be pressed back in to keep it in place as there is no ridge to lock it in place. It does feel secure as it doesn't fall out when held upside down and shaken. The pin is keeping it in place.

The pin on the back is original and extends beyond the brooch which is typical for Edwardian and Victorian jewellery hotsell. The clasp is a c clasp and the hinge is a wide tube hinge which again is typical for antique brooches.

This piece of jewelry would be the perfect Wedding gift for the Bride and can be worn on the Wedding Day as " something old " from the well-known rhyme, " Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue ".

You could also give this sweetheart brooch to your girlfriend or wife as a Valentine's Day gift or as a Birthday gift.
