This is a gorgeous antique hand painted porcelain sugar bowl that features deep pink roses and foliage on a white background. The piece is further accented with a teal border embellished with rich gilding and raised moriage dots. This would make a fine addition to your antique porcelain collection or use as intended on your dining table.
Sugar stands 5" tall x 4" diameter.
Condition: Very good pre-owned condition, there is a some wear to the gilding.
Has Satsuma type mark on base, which may read "Nichi Hon (Nippon)" or "Satsuma". Porcelain with this type of mark was probably bought directly in Japan, since there are no western characters in the mark.
This is part of a huge collection of antique Nippon and European (including Limoges) porcelain that I recently acquired from a longtime elderly collector who needed to sell off her collection as she was moving into an assisted living facility.
