Product code: Vintage Japanese brass hotsell fireplace screen
A beautiful and uncommon brass fireplace screen, solid brass and made in Japan. Features a peacock style fan that can fold and latch into an upright position (see bent and missing screws on one side of latch—you'll need a new one for it to latch securely). Also a sculpture of some kind of dragon/gargoyle. Two of the fans (the lowest to the ground) have been bent over time from use. Since it's soft pliable metal, it can be reformed and bent back. I just didn't want to risk doing it myself and doing further damage. In excellent vintage/antique condition given its age, and ready to be restored to its former glory. It has been used lovingly, but we switched to a gas fireplace and hotsell also gestated some small children, so this no longer has a great place to live in our home. Similar pieces sell for $350-$750 online. I am open to reasonable offers and mostly just hoping to help this cool piece find its next forever home.
