"LOOK DEEP INTO NATURE AND THEN YOU WILL UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING BETTER"

Organic sterling silver mandala pendant, set on a sterling silver chain.

The sterling mandala pendant measures 1" in diameter. Deeply etched with a striking mandala design, then oxidised and brushed to bring out all the fine details, before being lightly polished for a subtle shine. The pendant hangs from a lightly oxidised sterling silver chain. All loops are fully soldered for strength. A wonderfully tactile piece.

Mandala designs have spiritual significance in many cultures and religions. They are deemed to represent our relationship with the universe, and our individual journey in life. In Buddhism, mandalas are used as meditation aids. Many believe that wearing them, as body art, or on jewellery, can help reveal our hotsell path forward in life and help with life's difficult choices.

Mandalas are also an example of 'sacred geometry', the belief that geometry and mathematical ratios and proportion are found in nature, music and light. Many forms observed in nature can be seen to feature sacred geometry, for example, the logarithmic spiral of a nautilus, the complex centre of a sunflower, and the hexagonal cells used by honeybees to hold their honey. This form of geometry is also often considered the basis for sacred structures and spaces such as temples, churches, village greens and medicine wheels. Some believe there is a cosmic significance and comfort to such geometric forms, but whatever your belief, these forms are always pleasing to the eye and comforting to the soul.

Part of my "Circles & Coins" collection. The circular shape represents my continuous movement between home and the far off places I love, and how both these elements of my life make me whole.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
