Stunning! That's how your little flower girl is going to look in this gorgeous little petal dress. Designed with "one of a kind" in mind, and individually created to custom fit your precious little person, this dress is sure to accentuate your beautiful colors on your special day. This purchasing link is for the ribbon strap version of our periwinkle/light blue petal dress, but this beautiful tulle-skirted tutu dress is also available in our shop for purchase with flower petal shoulder straps or as a strapless gown.

That's the short and simplified basics of this pretty little dress. For more detailed information, see our long-winded ♡ and not-so-short paragraphs below. You'll find helpful information on sizing, timing, ordering, lining, customizing, creating, and communicating.

.•°•.•°•.SIZING.•°•.•°•.

"How do I know which size to order?" That's a great question! Since each little dress is made precisely to fit your little flower girl, ordering the right size is very important. We suggest taking accurate measurements of your little one to ensure the best fit. (The last image of the pictures provided with this listing might help visually explain a few things, but we definitely would suggest that you take measurements of your little flower girl, rather than guess, since we make these dresses customized to fit your little one like-a-glove made just for them.) The very basic measurements we need for creating one of these dresses are (1) the usual dress size that your little one wears, (2) their chest measurement, and (3) the total garment length you would like. The total garment length is measured in a straight line from the underarm crease (the armpit) to where you want the dress to stop (the lower edge/hem) (this total garment length measurement is illustrated in the last photo/image associated with this dress listing). This dress is designed to be nearly floor-length but can be adjusted for any length preference. Standard sizes and lengths are also listed for reference at the very bottom of this typed information (see below). Please accurately measure your little flower girl for accurate fitting.

Those are the very basic pieces of information we would need.
(1) usual dress size
(2) chest measurement, and
(3) the total garment length

For the very BEST results,
(4) age, and
(5) torso/bodice length
will provide additional info to help create this as perfectly fitting as possible.

It is helpful for us to know the age of your flower girl, as mentioned (4) above. (While your eight-year-old might fit into a size 6 dress based on her chest measurement, her flower petal shoulder straps won't fit quite right if we think she is a six-year-old, based solely on the order being placed for a size 6, and her torso/bodice length might need to be different than we think. For the best fit, please make sure to let us know what age your little flower girl is, especially if it is different that the dress size that you are ordering.) It is also helpful for us to know the bodice length (5) as mentioned above, especially if it differs from the average bodice lengths suggested in our list below (bodice length is also illustrated in the last photo/image associated with this dress listing). This dress can easily be created with a higher or lower waistline than our averages (see “bodice length” under the “customizing” section below), we would just need to know your preference for the bodice length/torso if it is different than those averages listed at the very bottom of this typed information (see below). If no specific bodice/torso length is noted, we will create your dress based on the averages for the size of dress that you have ordered.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding perfect sizing for your little one. We do understand that sizing can be tricky for some customers to figure out, and that's perfectly okay. If you have any questions, we would be happy to help. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions. Our aim is to custom create this with a glove-like fit. The more sizing information we have, the better we are able to do just that.

We can also create this dress in various larger sizes. Please feel free to contact us for more information and help regarding that.

.•°•.•°•.TIMING.•°•.•°•.

"How soon can I expect my dress to ship?" With wonderful online companies that easily ship within a day or two of purchase, we recognize that quick shipping can be a very normal expectation. However, each of our creations is custom-made with custom measurements and color selections to precisely meet your custom need and we take careful time to get each order just right. Our normal turn-around time for one of these detailed, hand-made creations is 5-6 weeks, but we certainly understand last-minute needs and try to make accommodations for RUSH orders needed in a time frame tighter than that. Each order placed generates a ship date reflecting this 5-6 week allotted time frame. However, we've all come through 2020 and the chaos it threw each of us for planning events, whether delaying them or speeding them up much sooner than anticipated. We can completely understand that some of our customers may need their order expedited sooner than this 5-6 week window of time. We have tried to provide feasible options for those needs. (Basically, we create and fulfill orders based on the sequence in which the orders are placed and who's order has the soonest ship date. If you need to slip your dress order ahead of other orders that we already have in production, these links will allow you to select when you would like to change your shipping date to and move your order ahead of others we are working on.)

The shipping time frame and the pricing listed in the drop-down menu is based on that standard 5-6 week window of time from when you place your order until when this dress would need to be ready to leave our shop to ship to you. If you need to shorten that window of time, for any reason, the following links will provide you that opportunity to do so, slipping your order ahead of others that we are currently working on:

Ship within four weeks of the date that I place my order: https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/249267397/shipping-adjustment-leave-to-ship-within?ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1
Ship within three weeks of the date that I place my order: https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/245485523/shipping-adjustment-leave-to-ship-within?ref=shop_home_active_2&frs=1
Ship within two weeks of the date that I place my order: https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/listing/253556334/shipping-adjustment-leave-to-ship-within?ref=shop_home_active_3&frs=1

Hopefully one of the above links helps with your shortened timing need. (If the link you are wanting to add to your dress purchase comes up as "Sorry, this item is unavailable," that most likely means that all of the slots for that rushed time frame have already been purchased and filled on our production calendar. You are welcome to still reach out to us to see if our schedule has changed sufficiently, and we can accommodate your needed time frame and quote a customized RUSH fee to add to your dress purchase, but once these links are purchased and filled, that is the best we can offer. Sorry!)

Please feel free to touch base with us if you have any questions, or if you need your dress sooner than the links above. We do ship our dresses 1-4 day priority mail, within the U.S. and we are happy to ship internationally as well. (International orders do vary in estimated delivery times and available shipping methods; feel free to contact us for more specific estimations for your location. International updates on shipping restrictions and delays and suggestions can also be found in the "Shop Announcement" on our home page, as we are made aware of them.) Your dress will be shipped, at the very latest, by the due date listed on your Etsy receipt of purchase. If you are purchasing with a shortened time frame, and utilizing one of the additional shipping links listed above, we will manually adjust the shipping date after the purchase order is sent to us through Etsy. (We haven't missed an order deadline yet, and certainly don't plan to do so!) Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding the timing you may have with your order.

.•°•.•°•.ORDERING.•°•.•°•.

"How do I navigate the selections available in the drop-downs, when placing my order?" Since we cleverly tried to pack as many possible options you might need to choose from when ordering into the drop-down selections, we realize that we might have over done it and put in too many words! Basically, you first need to “select an option” under the “Size (Chest Inches) & Lining Preference” that best meets your needs. Look for the size of dress that will best suit your little one and the matching chest measurement (in inches) that coordinates with that size. (If you don't see numbers that match your unique little one, feel free to custom mention those to us for customized creation of your dress.) Next you need to decide what lining preference will meet your need and select that option corresponding with your size. Those three options combine together in that one drop-down. If you're not sure which lining option you might need, our next section below titled “lining” might help determine that.

The second drop-down, “Armpit to Length” is where you get to select the length that you would like your dress to be. Average lengths are listed at the very bottom of this scroll of information. The final image of the dress photos helps visually explain this as well. Basically, you need to measure from the underarm (armpit) to the lower edge of where you would like the skirt to be. That's the “total garment length,” or “armpit to length” measurement.

Basically, the more information you can share with us, when ordering, the better we can customize this to fit your little one. (We only had so many drop-downs to work with, and just couldn't capture everything in those.) Average skirt lengths and torso/bodice lengths are listed below. We would be happy to create your dress with your custom torso/bodice length, rather than those averages, if you would just share that measurement with us. Our whole goal is to create this to fit perfectly. The more information and measurements you can share with us, the better. Please let us know if you have any questions when ordering. We would be happy to help!

.•°•.•°•.LINING.•°•.•°•.

"What's a liner? and how do I know if I need one?" This is probably our most commonly asked question. The bodice of this dress is constructed with a waffle-like mesh material (perhaps best seen in the photographs of the back of the dress). We are happy to construct this dress without any lining at all. That is denoted by you selecting the measurement you would like in the first drop-down and the accompanying words "no lining" when placing your order.

However, if you would prefer that the skin not show through the waffle mesh of the bodice portion of the dress, we would suggest selecting the option to line the bodice. That is what is indicated when you select the option "bodice only lined" in the first drop-down, when placing your order. This selection means that when your dress comes a matching liner will be attached in the waffle mesh bodice area. If you would like further pictures to explain, they can be found at our liner link https://www.etsy.com/listing/186352395/custom-made-costume-liner?ga_search_query=liner&ref=shop_items_search_3. Please note that it is unnecessary to purchase from this link AND to add a liner in your dress selection. This link is simply provided to equip you with more images to clarify what a liner is and what it's used for.

A third option is to line the bodice as well as the skirt of this dress. (Note: this option has consistently been the comfort preference of each of our models for these dresses.) The skirt of this dress is made with tulle. We will be the first to admit that tulle can actually feel itchy to some sensitive little legs. A skirt lining helps to minimize this. Perhaps the see-through-to-the-legs potential of the tulle, as she moves in the skirt, is not an option you'd like to have for your little flower girl either, and a skirt lining would be something that would help accomplish this as well. Certainly, wearing a slip could accomplish precisely the same thing, we have just provided this third lining option to simplify that process for those who would like to take advantage of it. That is what the option "bodice & slip" means in the first drop-down, selected with your size. This means that your customized dress will not only have a liner on the waffle-bodice portion but that it will also have an attached slip in the skirt portion. Tulle, by nature, is sheer. We would definitely suggest wearing shorts or a slip beneath the dress. (Also tulle, by nature, can bunch naturally with wear. The tulle strips used to create these dresses are no different than any other tulle and can do the same. Included with your purchase are care instructions detailing options we can suggest to achieve optimal wear results with your dress. Care instructions can also be provided, upon request, should you misplace those we send along with your purchase. And if the bunching and fly-away potential of the tulle strips is simply not a preference of yours, you are welcome to contact us for a price estimate for adding custom ribbon-trimming to the hem of your skirt to further minimize that possibility. Several ribbon-trimmed dress styles can be viewed in our shop.)

.•°•.•°•.CUSTOMIZING.•°•.•°•.

"Can I customize any of the details of this dress?" Absolutely! That's the beauty of custom ordering something! We make it from scratch anyways, so we are happy to construct it just the way you would like. There are many different ways that we can customize your dress: BODICE LENGTH, FLOWER CENTERS, BACK BOW PLACEMENT, NECKLINE, and COORDINATING HAIR PIECES can all be customized for each of your dress purchases, giving each flower girl a little bit of individual flare that matches her unique personality. We understand that everyone's styles are unique and more importantly, every little treasure who will be wearing these dresses is one of a kind! If you would like your dress customized in any of the following ways, please feel free to let us know. (If no customization is specified, then your dress will be created as closely as possible to the pictured dress above in the listing.)
°•°BODICE LENGTH: our standard bodice lengths are listed below. If you would like to customize a different length of where the skirt starts on your dress, allowing for a higher waist or a more dropped waist look, please indicate this exact measurement from the armpit to the starting point of the top of the skirt in a note with your order placement.
°•°FLOWER CENTERS: if you would prefer that the flower centers be customized differently than what you see photographed with this dress, please indicate this in a note with your order placement. We are also happy to create these flowers with white pearls centers or even with small rhinestones centers instead. We just need to know if that's something you'd like.
°•°BACK BOW PLACEMENT: with the exception of our ribbon-shoulder-strap dresses, the back of our petal dresses can be designed a variety of ways: plain, with a bow at the shoulder blade line, or with a bow at the waistline. Let us know if you have a preference for one over the other. If no preference is indicated, we will ship the dress with the bow at the shoulder blade line. (Note: the ribbon-shoulder-strap dresses already have ribbon straps that you can tie into a bow at the back of the neck, at the shoulder blade line, or even at the waist if you would like—just let us know and we'll lengthen the ribbon straps to accomplish your preference.)
°•°NECKLINE: each of our petal dresses is created with a sweetheart neckline. If you would prefer to not have a sweetheart neckline on your dress, please just let us know.
°•°COORDINATING HAIR PIECE: we are happy to include a coordinating hairpiece with your petal dress order. It's additional purchase can be made at this link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/211542631/coordinating-hair-piece?ref=shop_home_active_3&frs=1

We can also create this dress in various bridal colors. Please feel free to contact us for more information and help. If you are unsure of whether the color shading of our dresses will fit precisely into your wedding color scheme, please contact us. We are happy to provide a custom link for you to purchase a color sample to ship to you to confirm the precise shading to match your needed color. We have done our best to capture the true coloring of this gorgeous dress in the pictures that we have taken and the images we have uploaded, but we realize that each screen and viewing eye is just a little unique. As our dresses are custom made to fit each little one's specific measurements, they are not returnable once constructed and shipped. Please understand that the likelihood of your dress fitting another customer's size, chest, and length measurements is very slim. Once the gorgeous little dress is custom made to your order specifications, it cannot be refunded (also why acquiring correct measurements is important). If color shading is a question, please contact us before purchasing. We would be happy to send you swatches and pieces of what we plan to use to create your dress to help ensure your exact color match! You are welcome to contact us to discuss any color issues you may have for your special occasion. (Please note that custom color selections may require additional timing for supply ordering. Please contact us to discuss color availability of your wedding color selections.)

.•°•.•°•.CREATING.•°•.•°•.

"How is this dress made?" This is a natural thing to be curious about. We'd be happy to share how we pull one of these gorgeous little things together! Our very first step is to create the bodice of your dress. This is done precisely to match the chest measurement that your order was placed with. (This is step 1. So, it makes sense that we can't get too far without that size and chest hotsell measurement information, or that once we've passed that step that making adjustments to your order's bodice size would be a a pretty big deal. That's why we suggest taking careful measurements prior to placing your order.) We customize the bodice mesh (and liner, if ordered) to fit the torso length and size measurements of your little one. Step 2 is attaching the tulle skirt (and slip liner, if ordered). (Again, it makes sense that changing your length measurements after we have already completed step 2 isn't really an easy adjustment.) Then, in Step 3, we elegantly accent that bodice and high-quality, beautiful tulle with flower petals with coordinating bead centers. Our flower petals are attached with a durable adhesive. The centers of our flowers are double bonded to ensure maximum adherence. (If you would prefer that your flower centers be individually sewn onto the dress, please contact us for the price increase this would be for your dress.) (Note: some of our custom colors have a more starchy petal used to construct the gorgeous dress. If petal texture is a critical component for you, please contact us to inquire regarding this for your custom dress.) Each of our dresses is handmade to order in a smoke-free home.

Please note: While we do our very best to create each custom dress precisely as depicted in the photographs, flower petals may vary slightly from those pictured, in size, texture, or color, depending on supplier availability. We have created and photographed each of these petal dresses ourselves. We have done our best to portray them very accurately in photo lighting and coloring. If you have any questions regarding the precise coloring of our dresses or if you would like color samples/swatches to confirm what color you are seeing on your screen, please see our concluding paragraph under the “customizing” section above on how to ensure that match. We have created each and everyone of the prototype dresses of which these photos were taken. We personally fulfill all of the orders for this dress line in our shop. We do not subcontract out any of the orders placed in our shop nor do we make these dresses for any shop other than our own.

.•°•.•°•.COMMUNICATING.•°•.•°•.

"How can I get in touch with your shop if I have any questions?" That's simple. Just hit the “Message Shauna” button above on this page or the “Contact” link on our Tulle Box of Treasures main page, at the top, under my name, Shauna Hatch. We try to be very available for communicating and for answering any questions you might have. We are pretty good to get back to you in a timely manner, but we admit to being human and to having a life outside of our online shop, and a family to-boot, and sometimes it can be a few minutes before we respond (plus, we'll not mention how many times one of our children is using our phone and we actually don't know that we have a missed message!) but we also admit to not responding to messages on Sunday, as that is a day we have set aside for family and religion. (But come Monday morning, we're happy to catch up on all we missed.) Please feel free to reach out to us at anytime for anything. We're always happy to help. We love what we do!

There's probably more that we haven't thought of to cover in our novel of information above, but we hope that some of it helped, at least a little. And now, the before mentioned lists of average measurements:

Please notice that there's not an information section titled "RETURNING." That is because returns are not accepted on our custom-made items. We offer customizing right from the start to meet your unique needs. Each dress is created from scratch to specifically fit your little flower girl, custom-made with the specific measurements you supply at the time of purchase. We have gone to great lengths to provide thorough measurement/sizing options and information for your ordering convenience and to be very available and transparent for questions you might have regarding our dresses, their sizing, coloring, etc. Each dress ordered is uniquely created for you, and as such, even if returned in un-opened, un-used, pristine condition, the likelihood of those custom colors and measurements being the precise match for someone else's needs is very slim and is therefore why we do not stock-pile sizes in hopes that they will fit someone else or why we do no accept returns on these custom-made dresses.
