This bright screen print was made by the artist Constantine Kermes in 1981. The piece shows an Amish woman working on a beautiful pink and red quilt. The frame measures just over 33" tall and 13 3/16" across. The frame does not have glass. The print showing under the matte measures 26 1/2" x 6 1/2" The piece is signed: "21/90, "AMISH QUILTER", Constantine Kermes, '81". The labels on back read: "AN ORIGINAL PRINT IN A LIMITED EDITION BY CONSTANTINE KERMES, Paintings and pints by Mr. Kermes, which express the hotsell simple charm and dignity of America's rural folk, have been exhibited in ten one-man shows in New York, as well as over 100 such shows throughout the United States. His works can be found in numerous collections here and abroad. In addition, he is listed in the prestigious "Who's Who in American Art., CONSTANTINE KERMES, STUDIO-GALERY and RESIDENCE, 981 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, Pa. 17601, Telephone: (717) 569-0780. Mr. Kermes passed away in 2009.
This beautiful print is in good vintage condition, with some dirt, damage to frame and missing glass. It would look lovely with a new frame.
