Vintage De Delftse Pauw Holland Hand Painted Polychrome Lidded Oval Jar Artist Signed hotsell

This hand painted Delft lidded container has an oval shape and features polychrome floral decoration executed in shades of red, green, yellow and blue on hotsell a white ground. The design includes molded decoration that encircles both the foot and lid which has been accented in cobalt blue glaze. The underside of the piece bears a hand painted De Delftse Pauw mark, best seen in photos 8 and 9.

The container is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is minor age related fine crazing to the glaze which is mentioned for accuracy. As a hand decorated piece, it should also be noted that there are anomalies in the painted details consisting of glaze smudges/bleeding, most notably at the base of the jar. There are additional irregularities in the glaze which include flecks of material caught in the glaze itself as well as minor pops and skips, all of which are commonly found in vintage and antique ceramics. As seen in the accompanying photographs, these issues do not detract from the appearance or function of the piece.

The container stands 4" in height and is 4" by 3.125" at the lid. The underside of the piece has been hand painted with the words "DELFTS HOLLAND HANDPAINTED" along with the letters "BBR". The piece weighs in at 9oz.

This charming hand painted Delft lidded container displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a collection of hand decorated Delft pieces, or works equally well showcased in its own. A lovely and useful vintage find!
