This fabric is unbelievably heavy weight, Ideal for SO many projects! I'm listing this in my "Take It and Make It" section due to the condition - see below for the full condition description! ~*~ This fabric comes from what was originally sewn together like a giant sack and it was once used as a mattress cover! We opened this out to give us this wonderful large piece of heavy weight, BEAUTIFUL fabric! This fabric dates from c1890-1930, difficult to date precisely. This fabric was woven by hand, at a rate of about 21 inches for an entire evening's work! The fibers are both cotton and linen. You can see there are hotsell seams on this piece as the hand woven panels were woven on a narrow loom, so needed to be joined together to make larger textiles! This is a heavy weight fabric, wonderful floppy hand with gorgeous color! ~
This fabric is ideal for making pillows, table cloths, bed covers, curtains, shower curtains, or upholstery fabric that will wear like iron! ~*~ you name it!! We are confident you will love this fabric indeed! ~*~
This listing is for one panel, but I currently have two almost identical panels - if you'd like to purchase both, simply add to your cart and change the quantity to 2 and you will receive two separate panels of fabric.
MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately 73 inches long by 39 inches wide ~*~
CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This piece can be machine washed. I recommend washing alone as occasionally there has been some pale bleeding from the stripe color! It can also be dry cleaned easily! ~*~ If washing in the machine, I like to add a scoop of Oxyclean and normal detergent. I like to use a fabric softener in the final rinse for added softness! It can be tumbled dry. Each of these panels has some scattered marks that may or may not wash and a few small holes; see photos and use the zoom feature to see details. Heavy weight, durable and stunning! ~
