Vintage Owl Doll, G.H. French, Handmade Toy, Animal Doll, Vintage Doll, Bark hotsell Doll

This highly collectible owl doll from 1950s-1960s England is known by its real bark face and costuming accessories. The doll has glass eyes, mohair fur, and a very stiff and a little heavier than he looks due to his sturdy hotsell wire frame and coarse stuffing. He is able to stand,independently, 16 -inches high on his leather shoes and carries a hobo stick in one hand and a sack in the other. His condition is good, with light wear, but his the pile of his fur is still full. I cleaned a slight discolouration (yellowing) on the back of his coat recently, as the jacket is removable by sliding his hobo stick up.
