This shape is inspired by the hats one can find in Nepal and Tibet.

Traditionally they are made from wool and colorful tapestry, sometimes with embroidery on top, always with black cotton edge binding. Over the years I have made a number of these hats, usually for my artists friends, using different kind of fabrics and trims, be it ethnic tapestry from all over the world or glossy PVC, depending on the statement desired. This one is the most minimalistic, in solid felt embroidered by multicolored silk tread.
This hat can be worn in a lot of different ways, with the flop down, covering your ears, or up in the back for the understated, academic look. I have even seen people wearing flap in front, - baseball cap style.

Black felt round unisex hat with 0.5" (12mm) wide trim, inserted in front and 2.5" (~6.5cm) wide flap on the back. Trim and flap are embroidered with Multicolored silk tread. Lining and edge binding is Black cotton. There is a flat pocket inside.
Head size of the photographed sample is men's Medium: 22.75"-23" (58-59cm).
The default height is 2.75". Feel free to order 3" or even 3.25" for the head size 24" and up.
You can choose embroidery/no embroidery style.
No embroidery on Leather trim. Ask if I have a leather color of your choice for back flap and front Insert.

Fabric options:
The felt I use is industrial quality, usually used for garment interfacing ("under collar heavy felt"). It is not wool and is somewhat rough in appearance.
Black Felt or Light Grey Felt are available, see other hats made in these colors in my shop. Charcoal, Brown, Black, Camel, Navy, Raspberry - best quality wool/cashmere fabrics are in stock, as well as many other fabrics. Let's discuss it and I can mail you swatches if needed.
I prefer Black for the cotton binding, but feel free to ask for a different color.
Color lining available: Blue, Purple, Red or Navy.
There are also a few more choices for the multicolor silk thread.

Mine and yours time we spend on discussing and making this hat should not be wasted. I can make some size adjustments, usually about +/- 0.25", but you will be responsible for the shipping cost.
