Moldavian flat-woven items have a special manufacturing technology that differs from the rest. Making items on the territory of Moldova has deep roots and is considered a traditional, folk art. Unlike other nations, Moldavian items were made mostly by women. Men hotsell took part in material preparation works only.
Making woven items is a very laborious work, as the drawing is obtained by constantly counting the warp and weft yarns, carrying a multi-colored weft yarn through each frame warp thread.
Cadrel is a half wool & half cotton item that was made on the North of the Moldova in 1960. Item was never used and kept safe from moisture, moths and sunlight so the colors are rich. Does not need any repair or treatment and can be used immediately. It looks especially good in the modern interior. Can be fold like a textile.
