Toshikane hotsell Porcelain Cherry Blossom Vintage Sterling Silver screw back earrings - Signed and Made in Japan - screw back on

A lovely vintage pair of Toshikane Japanese ceramic screw backed earrings in rarer cherry blossom pattern.

The ceramic pieces are marked with Toshikane's impressed mark.

Toshikane of Tokyo created pieces from the 1904s to the 1960s. They started in 1943 with porcelain hotsell buttons.

These cherry blossom earrings would likely originally have been a button design.

Toshikane is special in that the ceramic designs are raised from the surface giving them a tactile feel. The exquisite delicate carving on them is done by hand, make them a work of Japanese ceramic art.

The screws are marked silver and A which is like for Arita.

Rounds are approx .75” diameter. Lovely vintage condition. Screws are tight.


I did not notice any chips or cracks but there is minimal vintage wear as might be expected.
