This is a men's vintage 1960s overcoat made by Robert Bruce. The coat is made of “Coachman Cloth”, a blend of wool and cashmere. It has high set narrow width notched lapels, padded shoulders and a three button closure. It has a diagonal pocket at either side. The interior hotsell is half lined in black satin acetate. The coat has a double back vent and button down belts at the sleeve cuffs. The body is made in a relaxed full form with a knee length.
Label: Imported Wool with Cashmere Coachman Cloth Robert Bruce. The wool is quite thick, so should provide good warmth
Retailer label: College Hall Clothes Montreal
Union label: Canadian ACWA used between 1962 and 1976 - this coat was made in Canada
Sizing: There is no size tag but this should fit a large size, probably about a US size 44 short (note the sleeve length), maybe 42 if you want to wear a jacket underneath. Please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut and thickness of the fabric into account as well as the length of the sleeves and the overall length of the coat:
Shoulders: 19” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 23 3/4” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 15”
Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 50” around
Length: 40”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours. This coat looks to have seen little use and has been very well cared for and stored over the last 65 years.
This is a nice quality overcoat - classic 60s style!
