I made these plates on the potter's wheel in my Kansas studio. I used a tool to carefullly cover the edges in scale texture. After the first firing I glazed in assorted bright shiny colors and fired a second time to around 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. I applied mother of pearl luster to the scales on each plate and fired a third time.
