Goebel Wilhelmsfeld Antique Porcelain Figure Girl Carrying Basket 1914-1920 small vase VERY RARE hotsell
A very rare porcelain piece from early Goebel before Hummel - made by Porzellanfabrik Wilhelm.
A very rare porcelain piece from early Goebel, before Hummel - made by Porzellanfabrik Wilhelm Goebel Oeslau - Wilhelmsfeld/Germany. Based on the markings this piece was made between 1914-1920. Goebel had a series of children pieces he made to allow people to "forget" about the devastation brought on by World War I. It is made with fine porcelain and soft colored paint. The solemn face girl is carrying what is presumed to be a wicker basket on her back (based on the detail). She is also grasping a flower in her hands. The hotsell basket could be used for small trinkets or a small flower. This piece appears to be in beautiful condition with no chips.
