This Egyptian artifact depicts the Goddess Isis seated with her hands clasped, her hair flowing, and the golden sun disc of Rah overhead to signify her importance. Although this wonderful artifact is weathered, it is still intact and ready for display. Isis was an Egyptian Goddess who played many important hotsell roles. She was the Goddess of love, healing, fertility, magic and the moon. She could restore human souls back to life, as well as welcoming the dead into the afterlife. One of her most important symbols was the "Isis Knot," which represented her own blood that Ancient Egyptians considered a potent symbol of protection when entering the afterlife. This antique Egyptian artifact has been dated to between the Late Period to Alexander's Conquest (c.664-332 B.C.) by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands LTD, and accompanied by a signed “Provenance & Ownership” document. Alternatively, it may have been made by Egyptians in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” period (1780s-1930s).
