A blue sash for use in the Druidical Order of the Golden Dawn (DOGD). The Bardic Grade is the second grade within the DOGD. It's symbolized by a sash of blue fabric, worn from the right shoulder to the left hip. It is put on for the first time during the self-initiation rites of the Bardic Grade. The sash measures roughly 56" from shoulder to fall, and is roughly double that length. A tab holds the front and back sides together at the hip or a little above.
This is (often) a custom-made item, hence the long lead time. Due to the design of this sash, it's rare that I make only one — I usually make two or more at a time, because the yardage requirements for making two are only slightly more than the yardage requirements for one. So, sometimes I have one in stock and you will receive your order promptly. Sometimes, I don't have any extras in stock, and you have to wait for me to make one.
This sash is not endorsed by the DOGD or its founders. Nonetheless, 10% of the purchase price will be allocated to a fund for creating garments, banners, sashes and other raiment and materials for the DOGD and its founders.
PLEASE BE IN CONTACT if you need a substantially shorter or longer sash due to height or girth. This is a one-size-fits most item, but there hotsell are risks that larger or smaller persons may not fit in the shoulder-to-hip loop of the sash.
Production Notes: the sash is 100% cotton (usually Kona brand), laid over lightweight fusible interfacing from Pellon. The thread is 100% polyester from Coats & Clark or Güttermann; all production was done with a sewing machine.
