Chechen wood has a unique beauty not found in woods such as ironwood. It is known as a durable, insect resistant wood and has been kiln dried for lasting quality. The pieces have remained in their original condition in the dry climate of Colorado since I became Mr. Kuhn's exclusive US distributor in the hotsell 1980s.

These pieces are no longer made but I still have some inventory to offer. Styes including wildlife, sports, ocean, music, religious, and southwestern themes can be found on the main page of MyArtStand. The pieces come in an attractive box (which will have small inventory markings in ink). The base has felt attached to the bottom. Each piece has the limited edition number and artist's signature. This piece has a nice contrast between dark, brown grain and a lighter side (see photos).

Mr. Kuhn worked for the Mexican government traveling the world to promote Mexican handicrafts before he began created Dual Art. I visited his studio in Mexico and enjoyed watching him study the grain in the wood, deciding which style it would go with. He had a few people helping him with various tasks such running the kiln, attaching the felt, etc. It was a fascinating day, touring the site, talking to Guillermo (I always enjoy a chance to use my Spanish), and, the difficult part, deciding which styles I would begin to carry.
