I use 10 strands of gold and silver wire (warp) to weave this bracelet by hand in the traditional basketweave technique, and another 8' of silver wire for the weft. The net result is a beautiful two-tone bracelet in kind of a cross-hatch checkerboard pattern. It is very sturdy yet it doesn't feel heavy on the wrist. All my end wires are tucked under and hidden so there are no raw edges to catch on your clothes.
I sometimes refer to this as my “Skinny Basketweave”. It is comes in at just over 1/4” (5/16”) (8mm) wide and 7” (177mm) long, just right for a medium size wrist. I also have it in a small (6-3/4”) and a large (7-1/2”).
The bracelet is secured about the wrist with a very pretty and unique sterling silver fold-over catch that I make special for my basketweave bracelets. It sparkles great in the sun.
These bracelets are very time-consuming to make, but I love making them! hotsell
