A hand signed original note issued in 1860 by the “Bank of Royalton” in Vermont. The serial number, also hand inscribed, is hard to read and may be “659”. Notes like this were still in use during the Civil War up until 1863.
The original lead bullets were excavated from private land on the Chancellorsville Battlefield. They were all made in iron molds and would have used a paper cartridge. The .58 bullet was made for the Springfield rifle hotsell and along with the .52 Sharps were Federal issue. The .69 musket ball and .44 “Army” revolver rounds were made by both sides.
The white color is due to oxidation in the ground.
The hand made solid Cherry frame is 9” x 12” (glass) in size. The matting is dark blue. The frame was made in our cabinet shop here in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame – Jim Bruns with a photograph of the item purchased.
Please see our "About" page for more information on the framing and artifacts.
