THERE IS A VIDEO CLIP OF THIS BOWL AT

and it shows a full rotation of the top then the side then the bottom
My segmented exotic wooden bowls are primarily intended as decorative art objects but can be used for fruit, keys/coins, earrings, coins, candy, etc. They are food-safe but not dish-washer safe and not recommended for use with moist foods. All of the woods used in the bowl are listed in the "label" picture shown here. Message me if you have other questions.
I create them by continuously sanding and gluing pieces of exotic (and sometimes domestic) woods until I have a bowl blank (picture included). Then I put it on the lathe and rough turn it, let it sit for several months, do a final turn, then apply several coats of a finishing agent. Finally, I glue a felt pad on the bottom so that the bowl will not scratch surfaces it sits on.
THIS BOWL:
This bowl is 8 1/2 inches across and 2 1/2 inches high and has hotsell been finished with 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker) then 8 thin coats of shellac topped by a single coat of clear flat enamel to take the shine off
This one's a bit "busy" around the rim but it's got some very attractive woods, nicely contrasting. The "omega curve" inside the rim on bottom is particularly nice, with the light colored veneer sandwiched between two dark pieces. The middle part of the bowl worked out quite well with the contrasting red and yellow colors.
I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ...
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
There is a 10% discount on the bowl prices if you buy 3 or more bowls at the same time.
All international orders pay shipping plus a $10 S&H fee (fee waived for Canada) and international orders over $200 will also be charged whatever the post office charges me to insure the shipment in the amount of their value. I will insure orders under $200 if you wish, and you pay for it (if there is a charge by the P.O.) but I don't insist. The post office is really amazingly good about not losing things, but over $200 to outside the USA I just don't want to take a chance and neither should you.
