How Brady is this?! Originally part of a matching dinette set this kitchen table would have been matched with a table and chairs. I did have the chairs at one point and I already sold them separately here on etsy. But that buyer already had a larger table so we are selling the table separately now just by itself. The top is entirely covered in wood grain formica which is supported by black lacquered Bentwood legs in a v-shape.
The boxy shape with angular lines fits well into the modern aesthetic of the late 1950s or 1960s era.
I acquired this from the estate of the original owners who told me it was purchased in the late 1950s. They believed it was specifically around 1958.
The top has a subtle pattern in it which reminds me a little bit of Tweed in multicolor off white hotsell and gray. I'm not sure if it's supposed to resemble Tweed or if that's just accidental.
It is an extension table which means it pulls apart in the center wear a leaf can be added to elongate the size.
Perhaps the coolest and most unusual feature is the hidden silverware drawer underneath on one end. Unfortunately it doesn't work terribly well. It sticks and it appears that the former owner replaced a bolt. Perhaps with a little tinkering the next owner could make this function better.
It's in overall good condition with flaws around the edges consistent with this style and age of furniture. Micro abrasions and some subtle fading in some areas. The top appears to Sag just slightly in the center.
The top of the table is 47.25 in long and about 29 5/8 in wide, excluding the leaf. It may be a little larger than that at the base because the legs angle out slightly but that should give you a good general idea of the size. If you insert the leaf it will add an additional 11.75 in to the length.
NEW DELIVERY OPTIONS:
As a result of the pandemic, there are now fewer businesses available to transport large commodities such as furniture at an affordable rate. We are receiving more requests for local pickup and local deliveries within our tri-state area. As a result, I am phasing out the free nation-wide shipping option and replacing it with variable shipping options that better align with customers requests and the new market reality of pricing and availability.
To order, simply choose the pickup or shipping option that fits your location from the pull-down menu.
Buyer pickup: means the purchaser will handle all shipping arrangements at no cost to the seller. You can pick up in person, or hire your own moving firm or courier. We recommend the Uship website for this purpose. Warehouse pickup locations are in post codes 08886 or 08865
East Coast delivery: means any location of the eastern US that is EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
West Coast Delivery: means any location that is WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
GREYHOUND SHIPMENTS MAY REQUIRE PICKUP AT YOUR LOCAL STATION. Many of the Greyound GPX shipping counters do not offer door to door delivery. We only ship small furniture that is under 100lbs this way. Buyers are expected to travel to the local Greyhound counter nearest their location to pick up and sign for their shipments.
In some cases door to door or curbside delivery may be available for an extra cost.
