This carved jade ring is natural, pure and A grade jade jadeite of bean green variety. On the top of this piece is carved into a Pixiu which is lying on the ancient coins with open mouth and in looking forward posture. The facial expression of Pixiu is majestic and powerful. The Pixiu is carved vivid with excellent craftsmanship and make it look more animated. Both of texture and color are genuine and also show the style of orient.

• MINERAL INFORMATION •

The term "Jade" specifically applies to two different rocks, Nephrite and Jadeite. Jadeite, prized for its hardness and ability to be intricately carved, is the genuine jade, rarer than Nephrite, so it is regarded as more precious. It is found in China, Russia and Guatemala, but the best Jadeite comes from Burma, now known as Myanmar.

Burmese Jadeite derives its name from the Jadeite mines of Upper Burma where it is mined. It is the principal source of top-grade gem material. It is a sodium aluminum silicate that can have the full range of colors.

In Myanmar, at the annual 'Gems, Jade and Pearls Emporium', blocks of jade in all sizes are auctioned. When purchasing the raw materials, the dealers need to be fairly lucky, since the nodules, blocks and fragments are sold either whole or after having been cut into slices, and there is only a very small window, the result of some initial grinding. So the buyer cannot see exactly what is hidden on the inside: valuable green jade, or an almost worthless, speckled or streaky material. It is not until the cutting process begins that the real quality is revealed.

Also known as Tianlu or Bixie, Pixiu is one of the five auspicious animals in ancient Chinese mythology, the other four being the dragon, phoenix, tortoise, and Chinese unicorn. Pixiu is considered a wealth-bringing divine hotsell animal with a dragon's head, a horse's body and a unicorn's feet. The animal, capable of flying, looks like a lion and has gray fur.

Pixiu is fierce and powerful by nature. As such, it is in charge of patrolling duty in the sky to keep demons, ghosts, plagues and diseases at bay. It has a mouth but no anus, so it just swallows things inside without passing anything out. That's why it is regarded as a divine accumulator of wealth from all sides without letting anything out.

A- jadeite indicates the natural jadeite without undergoing any artificial treatment, alteration or enhancement. Such a kind of natural jadeite does not change with the passage of time. It can be preserved forever and wears well .

B- Jadeite is defined as the natural jadeite having undergone a process of acid treatment, removed the impurities and impregnated with colloidal silica or resin. Normally, this kind of jadeite will turn out yellow gradually in 5-10 years of time and then the surface color will come off due to the ageing of resin or colloid. Meanwhile, the composition of inherent texture of jadeite has been destroyed during the acid treatment which affects immediately its durability.

C- Jadeite is specified as the natural jadeite having undergone artificial treatment, colloid impregnation plus adding the new pigment substance.( We say dyed color) We may also say that not only its internal texture has been undermined but also its internal color was artificially added in.
