Product code: French Opera Binoculars Mother of Pearl & hotsell Brass,
Antique 1920's “PERIER PARIS” veneered Mother of Pearl and Brass very high class, well made and wonderfully working Opera, Theatre, Bird Watching female fashion binoculars from the Art Deco Roaring 20's. Dimensions 4” long, 2 1/8” wide, 1 1/4” diameter at outer lens, 7/8” diameter at eye piece lens. The hotsell eye piece is paneled with a circular Mother of Pearl fashion rim, engraved with the maker's name, “PERIER PARIS.” In the 1920's there were a few high quality French mini binocular makers like this who used numerous names, like PERIER, for their mostly Mother of Pearl coated with veneer inlay fashionable pocketbook or purse binoculars. This was a time when live productions rather than movies were the main entertainment, and seeing people's faces and expressions from afar was helped greatly with mini-binoculars. Condition is pristine. No scratches, dents, or even signs of use other than slight age patina on the brass and slight pieces of dust on the inner lens. Very collectible. Quality.
