Date: ca. 1920
This stylish vase has a classical pear shape with facetted sides and stands on a round foot. It has a deep midnight blue colour and is almost black in some lighting conditions. The neck and part of the shoulder contrast beautifully with a background in an azure blue colour filled in with white flowers and green leaves. This decorative register is edged with a brown scalloped band that follows the contours of the facets. This décor has been enamel painted under the top glaze; a technique which speaks of quality and craftsmanship, resulting in a wonderful uniform brilliance of the colours.
The base bears a serial number (283?) but, frustratingly, no maker's mark.

Very good condition hotsell. Minor surface wear to the glaze. There are two, on either side, little production marks (see photo).
