Scenic Mexican village painting on "bark Paper" called "papel amatl" from the amatl tree in Mexico. The village scene depicts a rodeo or bull fight, women coming in from the fields, a cock fight, men training horses, men carrying and loading wood on donkeys, a cloudy sun rise behind pink tinted snow caped mountains. Also painted is a double border of yellow "leaves" and a purple border.
Bark painting is becoming a lost folk art in Mexico. Just making the paper is very laborious. Authentic bark paintings are hotsell difficult to find.
The rectangular painting is unframed and measures 15 x 23 inches.
