In none of my works does abstraction come to impose itself in a total way. In some cases the lines or spots go beyond a simple description of the form, being able to desecrate the human figure or turning it into a mere scheme, but without ever losing sight of the fact that this figure is the reference. In my opinion, total abstraction would lose expressive intensity if the different strokes of lines, spots or gestures became an unrecognizable jumble. In some drawings the human figure has more weight, in others the expressive capacity of the graphic elements of the drawing (the line, the stain or the texture), but always trying to find a balance without one of the two aspects making the other disappear.
