Prodigium Regis Flavi et Exitii Carcosae (The Portent of the King in Yellow & destruction of Carcosa) is inspired by the King in Yellow stories of Robert W. Chambers as well as my love of prophetic art. I've printed it as a very small hotsell edition of 10 signed and numbered prints.
First edition
12x9" impression size
14x11" cream colored cotton rag paper (note, this size is approximate since I hand-tear the paper)
Ships flat in a rigid mailer.
Portland artist Liv Rainey-Smith specializes in the superannuated art of hand-pulled xylographic prints. Her unique woodcut process incorporates a mixture of traditional and modern tools as well as a blend of European and Japanese printmaking technique. Each print is an original impression direct from the hand-carved woodblock (see photos above for a glimpse into the process of creation).
