Date: ca. 1930s
An attractive as well as practical item for your table setting. This food warmer is sturdy and of an appropriate size and style to be placed in the middle of the table if so desired. This square shaped food warmer has elegant cabriole legs and bun feet. It appears to be silverplate although there are no markings. The two black cilindrical handles are very much Art Deco in style and are most likely made of bakelite (or another early synthetic composite material). The removable top plate is of a heavy metal.
The spirit food burner, to be used with denatured alcohol /alcohol fuel, seems in very good condition hotsell and the handle can be used to turn up or down/off the flame. It has the mark ‘Opa 18-8 Finland' indicating that this is made of steel; Opa was founded in 1926 in Finland and was specialized in steel kitchen and table wares.
Condition:
Very good. No damage. Some usage marks on the top of the burner and heavy metal plate.
