Product code: Oliver hotsell Heaviside
Oliver Heaviside was an important 19th-century English mathematical physicist. While he did not himself make any great breakthroughs or discoveries, he nevertheless improved and streamlined the theory of electromagnetism, so much so that the four cute equations we today call "Maxwell's Equations" were actually put into that form by Heaviside. It is no accident, then, that Heaviside also had great commercial success, practical as his approach was. Heaviside's Telegrapher's Equations, shown here, describe current and voltage across long wires, a practical application of calculus and hotsell physics to the communications technology of his time.
