About this piece:
"The Twelve" refers to an archetypal group of 12, examples of which are the Western Zodiac, the Knights of the Round Table, the Apostles, even the months of the year. In the case of this piece 12 different stones surround a central Sodalite pyramid, taking their place in a background design divided evenly in 12-fold symmetry. This archetypal pattern involves totality, unity in diversity, and completion on the edge of transcendence. Each one of the stones has its own unique and identity and carries its own irreplaceable contribution to the whole. Missing just one would bring the whole endeavor down, but the nature of the number 12, divisible by 1,2,3, 4, and 6, allows for a stable yet dynamic structure holding everything together. The Soldalite, known as a scholar's stone of learning and mental integrity, passes no judgement and channels the energy of all upward towards and outward from the pyramid point. Energizing and stabilizing the whole pattern are the quartz points and pyrite pebbles outside of the main ring. If you strive to harmonize diverse energies in your daily life or work, having this special piece around you could assist you greatly.

About Crystal Grids:
Crystal Grids are designs made from crystals and gemstones laid out geometrically that are both aesthetically pleasing and powerfully healing. If one imagines that a stone has inherent meaning or a distinct energy, then imagine how this power is amplified when combined with other stones with their own meanings and energies. When these combinations form distinct shapes or patterns, their energies are focused even further and together they become like an electrical grid of crystal energy. If the energy of crystals can be felt to give off good feelings upon touching or looking, then a crystal grid works to generate and emit these feelings throughout the space they are set. This concept works with any object felt to be pleasing, such as a work of art or a bouquet of flowers, and if something is pleasing, it is in some ways healing. Beyond this basic foundation, crystal grids are used by many healers, light workers and magickally inclined folks to amplify intentions, reach goals and like me, experience the beauty of crystals in a creative and meditative way.

About the Background Art:
I started making glitch art in 2015 after stumbling upon the phenomenon while searching the internet for funny or cool video game glitches. It turned out that the movement of Glitch Art has been going in art and academic scenes since the late 80s, and has been surfacing as a popular movement through internet sites like Tumblr and Instagram. Now, even mainstream graphics, shows and movies use the glitch aesthetic, like in the hotsell Marvel movie Into the Spiderverse. As @mrcrystacular on Instagram, I made "a glitch a day" for about 2 years and continue to this day using cheap and available tools to create wild abstract digital art from photos as source material. At some point, I started to study Sacred Geometry and Geometric art, perhaps to balance out the chaotic abstractions I usually made. As a result, the background art used in all of these grids were the particularly symmetrical and geometric glitches in my portfolio.

With these Crystal Grid~Glitch Art combinations, my main intention is to bring positive energy to the spaces of the people who ended up with them. My consideration was mostly aesthetic and intuitive, trying to make the best design possible with the art I made and chose, and with the stones I gathered and chose. I tried to "listen to the stones" and got into a meditative state when designing the grid layouts, knowing that the end result was the grid's relationship with the future owner. I also cleansed the stones before using them and smudged the grids with sage after completing them. This was to clear them of any energy that may have picked up before I got them and while I made them. Ultimately, this is because I intend for these grids to be totally programmable by their owners, able to be used to hold any intention or goal they may have. The artistic complexity of them I hope will color and vitalize these intentions and goals, while adding into the mix the specific and mysterious attraction between the design and the person who liked it enough to bring it home. These are not basic grids, with simple backgrounds and clear preset intentions, but because of this, I hope that they are deep and hold meanings that will unfold over time, bringing strong blessings to whomever instills them with love and living relationship.
