1950s Streamlined Wood and Brass Liquor Case and Caddy - Padlocked Tabletop Storage - Easy to Carry Bar - Wales Japan Ceramic Decanters Bottles - Scottish Clan - Mid Century Modern Style
Imagine this fantastic mid-century style bar set on your bar cart, sideboard or man cave. It has it all! It would also make an amazing gift for the right person. Maybe for Father's Day or your favorite host?
Both the streamlined shape of this wood case plus the brass* legs are definitely Mid-Century Modern design. A la "Madmen", bar carts, etc. were a big deal during the 1950s. This would have been a pretty special addition to a home bar. Due to the handle and the security bar, it's also portable. That bar will hold the bottles securely in place if you decide to carry it with you to that party next door. It locks in place with the little padlock (with 2 keys), giving you the extra advantage of being able to protect your alcohol from children or roommates.

Condition: Showing some age but otherwise in good condition. The wood on the case appears dry, like it needs stain--I think a little Old English polish should make it look beautiful. The faux brass is a little worn and spotted, maybe losing a little of the brass coating. Inside the bottles are very clean. Two of the corks are perfect, one has a little bit missing (see photos). The padlock and keys work but look like they need a little polish. All 3 of the bottles still have the original foil label on the base. Please note that I am limited to 10 photos but have many more. If you want to see it from a different angle or see a particular part of the bottles or cabinet, please contact me.
Wales Label Information: This label is one of the trademarks used by the New York Merchandise Co., a New York City importer/distributor who handled items from Japanese manufacturers, reselling them under their own trademarked labels. This black and gold Wales label with the crown was first introduced in the 1950s. The company lasted only through the 1960s, which helps us narrow down the period that this set was made.
