Rebecca. My daughter's name. In Hebrew, “Captivating”. In Gen.24:16, she is described as a virgin of great beauty. In fact, her husband Isaac didn't hotsell want other men to know that she was his wife for fear they might kill him to get her. The story goes that Isaac's servant asked God to identify her by having her offer him water from the well for both he and his camels. This Photogravure from 1883 well illustrates that story. It was engraved by Goupil et Cie, Paris engravers, and printed on japon paper from the 1880's edition of "The Masterpieces Of French Art." It is approximately 10” x 14” and comes with the original divider/ description page with information on the scene.
