hotsell Antique Pitcher, Aesthetic Period, Quadruple Plate, Figural Lid, Enameled Interior, Victorian Era, Silver Water Pitcher, Etched

Here is a beautiful antique Victorian water pitcher from the late 1800s, (1860s - 1880s) by the Meriden Silver Co., Meriden, CT.
This large heavy pitcher stands 13 1/4" tall, and is 11" from end of spout to back of handle.
The base is 7" in diameter.
The silver layer of the quadruple plate might still be present, but we are unsure, as we did not attempt to polish this one.
The interior is white enamel (or porcelain, to some) and adds much weight. The enamel is in really good condition for it's age, with no chips or large pieces missing. There is expected wear from use, and the area around the spout interior is crazed.
There is an irregular scalloped edge around the neck of the pitcher (shown). Quirky, and interesting.
The hinged lid works perfectly and shows no sign of repair or replacement.
The male figure on top of the lid seems to be a hunter or whaler. The shaft he is carrying is bent from the hand up. We suppose it was straight at one time. The shaft does not appear to be a gun or spear.
When the lid is opened, the back rest of the male figure rests nicely on the metal piece protruding over the female's head, which sits atop the handle. She is a Victorian lady with long hair, and wearing an Egyptian style collar. The hinge is in excellent shape.
The spout with ice lip is lovely with another bust of a woman just below.
The sides are beautifully incised or etched in the Victorian Aesthetic Style, flowers, leaves, a couple of small landscapes, and plenty of Egyptian influenced decorations.

***there are plenty of good-sized dents in the sides of this hefty pitcher. Imagine how difficult it would have been to fill water glasses with a 6 pound pitcher, plus the added weight of the water, about 2 quarts. One side has three, one of which we would call a dimple. The other side has two. They are noticeable. We think they add to the charm, and really does not affect the usefulness of the piece.***

Marked with maker's name on bottom as shown, and 'Quadruple Plate' with some etched initials, etc.
We have not cleaned or polished this piece, except to wipe it down for pics and handling.
If you need more photos, please convo me.
Weighs almost 6 pounds without packaging.
Ships safely.
