Product code: Antique Silk hotsell Kimono Jacket / Nice Indigo Oshima Tsumugi / Seven Lucky Gods / Great Condition

This is a Haori that is closer to vintage than antique.
It is a famous indigo Oshima Tsumugi Haori.

The fabric has a little subtle shine to it.
With Shitsuke-tsuki (see bottom), it looks almost new.

The Haori is reversible and can be worn on both sides.
Inside this Haori, the Seven Lucky Gods are drawn, and each god looks very happy!

This Haori is usually a larger size.

Size: 52.8" x 36.8" / 134 cm x 93.5 cm

Most of our Kimonos and Haoris are hand sewn and custom made. We measure from sleeve edge- to-edge (horizontally), and from the top (where the collar is attached) to the bottom (vertically).

The HAORI is a traditional Japanese hip or thigh length Kimono style that can be worn like a jacket.

There are two types. First, “AWASE” has an inner lining and can be worn reversibly. Second, “HITOE” which does not have an inner lining and usually worn in the summer time.

The unique part of HAORI's inner lining is the intricate design. It is a subtle and not always visible from the exterior, reflecting a Japanese virtue of respect for design without hotsell showing that to everyone.

It is actually part of normal care of the piece for the time. They used to actually take it a part piece-by-piece for cleaning (and wash and dry in the sun), then put each piece back together. It was a process that we couldn't even imagine for today's standards.
So please remove it gently.

Some items have been sewed for cleaning (shitsuke), and the stitching may be delicately removed once you receive the item.

It still has the "shitsuke", which makes it feel like almost brand new even though it is an antique.
