Signed JOHN STAPLE Ceramic Art Plate 11" Square ~ Modernist Abstract Studio hotsell Pottery Pastel Platter ~ Vintage Hand Crafted Large Serving Tray

We're pleased to offer an exquisite, rare studio art plate by John Staple. This fairly heavy square platter features abstract geometric shapes with a blue leaf in the center. Its has an asymmetrical ruffled edge and a crackle glaze over pastel shades of lavender-purple, coral-pink, yellowish-turquoise and blue. The platter is about 11" in length and width, the sides come up about 1.5", and it is about 3 lbs 2 oz in weight. It sits on a sturdy ring base and is signed "staple" at the back.

This stunning platter is in excellent vintage condition - no scratches, scuffing or repair. It seems unused and only displayed as the top glaze is near perfect. When looking, we found a small nick on the white top edge in the glossy glaze. It is not so visible due to the color, please se the last picture. It doesn't in any way take away from the beauty and brilliant colors of the platter though. Any other variations in finish or appearance of the dish are not considered imperfections, but are the mark of this unique handmade item. Please see all pictures for overall condition and details.

This hand-formed and hand-painted decorative platter from John Staple's Studio Pottery is a rare find and very charming with unusual, comforting colors and a nature abstract form. This would be a wonderful centerpiece on a table or displayed under light on a shelf.
