Vintage HANS HANSEN Fine Sterling Silver Annular Brooch Designed By Bent Gabrielsen Made hotsell 1970 Oval Model #115 Kolding, Denmark

Beautiful vintage fine sterling silver Modernist style brooch, designed by Bent Gabrielsen for renowned Danish silversmiths Hans Hansen and dated 1970.

This fantastic looking solid silver annular brooch is designed in the Modernist style and comes with typical Scandinavian craftsmanship.

Bent Gabrielsen was an apprentice for Ejler Fangel in Copenhagen, Denmark and qualified as a goldsmith in 1949.

Qualifying with top grades from the Danish College of Jewellery and Silversmithing, Gabrielsen was immediately hired by Hans Hansen.

By the time he left Hansen in 1969 to set up his own workshop, he was responsible for the companies entire production.

This simple but stunning elliptical brooch is a perfect example of his work and is highly sought after by collectors and wearers of fine Scandinavian jewellery.

The brooch measures approx. 5.7cm wide and 3cm tall, it weighs approx. 20g.

The brooch is plain silver to the front with the fully working clasp to the rear, it also carries its markings to the rear which show it's makers signature, country of make, age etc.

This is not a new piece but a true vintage classic, it has been used by its previous owner and there are some minor scratches/marks as you would expect from such a wearable piece that is now over 50 years old but as you can see by the photos, it has clearly been loved and taken care of.

My photos are taken at x16 - x32 magnification and will show any marks and signs of use as oversized but worn as designed and viewed with my own eyes at normal resolution these are very minor.
