Original 19th century hand-colored steel engraving after William Henry Bartlett -.
Original, 19th century hand-colored steel engraving after William Henry Bartlett - Trenton High Falls, in Upstate New York not far from Utica. Trenton High Falls was a very popular destination for 19th century travelers. Beautiful hand-coloring and framed with acid-free materials and great french matte and gold/gray frame.
Excellent condition and ready to hang. From a long time private Upstate New York collection. Guaranteed to be an original, 19th century, ca. 1838/9 steel engraving after the original sepia watercolor by William Henry Bartlett. Engraved on steel by C. Cousen, who engraved many of Bartlett's prints for hotsell George Virtue, Ivy Street, London. These prints were included in books and portfolio's titled American Scenery distributed in the late 1830's and 40's. This print would make an attractive gift and/or would look nice in an office or home. I will be posting listings of other Bartlett engravings over the coming weeks so please check back often.
