Winter Garden is one of those captivating dolls that is very difficult to convey in photos. Once she is in front of you, this statement becomes clear! In the same way a winter bouquet of fresh flowers has a special significance in the coldest season, so this precious little girl speaks to our hearts. Dressed in her cotton velveteen coat with cozy faux fur trim and pink lining hotsell, she makes an unusual statement doll. Her hat is atypical for winter, with its polka dot tulle gathering underneath and a bold flower on both sides, clustered with little white blooms with pearlized centers. The straw-like appearance of the hat, coupled with the bonnet shape, (shorter in back), combines with the unusual warm color palette in pink, orange and red tones, harmonizing to create a fresh look for winter. Velvet ribbon bow ties in front. Her little, cornucopia-derived, handled cone, a polka dot print with bright lime green ground, has a shiny berry cluster and petals suggesting poinsettia, a velvet band with three dimensional ribbon flowers and a couching trim handle. The ribbon flowers are repeated on the waistband of her deep forest green, sleeveless satin dress. A very tiny sequin is sewn in at the far edge of the floral motif on either side. I know, who would see that, but it is a Madame Alexander trademark to add such details! The dress skirt has two tiers, each edged in a slim, lighter green ribbon trim band. Patent leather shoes, also atypical for winter, are the perfect choice for this lovely winter doll! She will surely brighten the cloudiest winter day and defeat the winter doldrums in her tasteful and cheery ensemble!

MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.

MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." There are a few noteworthy exceptions, when I SPECIFICALLY KNOW THE HISTORY of the doll and habits of original owner. My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps, no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands, ( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."

MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
