Vintage Grain Sack hotsell Heavy Plaid Fabric For Pillows Wool Linen and Cotton European

A wonderful and unusual grain sack find! *~* It is not often I find a grain sack with a plaid pattern like this, and the material is different too - a homespun wool/cotton/linen blend! There are many beautiful hand-stitched mends on this sack as well! It is a real timeworn beauty, SUPER charming!

Here's some more information about the features of this wonderful grain sack:

STRIPE COLOR(S): Brown, Pink, Purple, Orange, Red, Natural Pale Linen Tone

MEASUREMENTS: 19 inches wide by 42 inches long (it's double sided, so if using for cutting there are 2 panels that measure this!) ~*~ (it's double sided, so if using for cutting there are 2 panels that measure this!)

CIRCA AGE: 1940s

TONE: Variegated stripes - the undyed linen stripes are a lovely pale natural tone!

TEXTURE: Heavy, floppy hand and slightly coarse (from the wool content), but also lovely, not too scratchy texture

CONDITION: I've freshly laundered this sack and it's ready to use! ~ You may want to dry clean this sack, or it can be machine washed on cold with fabric softener and no detergent, then hung to dry. You can also tumble dry for just a few minutes to further soften the fabric. So not dry because of the wool, I am also concerned the dyes may bleed if not carefully laundered. There is a small hole in one lower corner of the sack. There are many hand stitched mends, this was so well cared for! There is a seam on one side. There are 2 small stains on each side and one one side there is a pale bleed from the dye. Wonderful timeworn appeal! Condition reflected in the price.

GENERAL GRAIN SACK INFORMATION: Grain sacks were hand-woven and used for storing grains! The stripe on the grain sack indicated which family farm it belonged to and ensured that the miller returned the sack to its rightful owner hotsell. These sacks were meant to stand the test of time! They are 100% machine washable, over and over and over. These durable textiles are ideal for upholstery projects, pillow cover, bath mats, table runners, dog beds, curtains, lampshades, and even outdoor use (hemp is naturally mold and mildew resistant). I love knowing that by virtue of their age, these textiles were grown without the use of pesticides. Wonderful organic fabric for natural living!
