This unashamedly romantic shabby chic trinket box has a lovely hinged heart-shaped box as base. It is covered with pink rose patterned shards and delecate swirling green tendrils. Four white shimmering beads and one sculpted rose give the whole an understated 3-D effect, and it is grouted all in pale gray, which brings out the delicate colour of the roses and the green tendrils.

This style of mosaics is called Picassiette, or stolen plates, because it is made with shards from broken plates. However, I can guarantee that no stolen goods were used in the construction of this mosaic.... All my mosaics are individual one of a kind creations, made and designed by me. Each one involves hours and hours of work, from developing the design, sourcing the materials, hand shaping and glueing the tess to choosing and hand colouring the grout.
