Antique Teapot and Sugar Bowl by Tressemann and Vogt T&V white-ware.
Antique Teapot and Sugar Bowl by Tressemann and Vogt T&V, white-ware made in Limoges, France between 1892 to 1907 and signed by the artist. Very delicate fine porcelain with elegant hand painted gold hearts design and gold accents and a lusterware glaze finish. The teapot is signed with the artist initials written in gold on the bottom. Both teapot and sugar bowl have the T&V Limoges France mark stamped in green on the bottom. This mark was used from 1892-1907. They are in good vintage condition, has some wear to the gold, no cracks. There is a tiny chip to the lip inside the lid, see picture. The 10-ounce teapot measures 4 3/8" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" long, from handle to spout. The sugar bowl measures 3 1/4" tall, 3" wide and 4 1/2" long, from handle to handle. *The pictures do not accurately reflect the elegance of this set.
The porcelain factory partnered by Gustave Vogt and Émilien de Tressemanes began in 1882 when they ran the Limoges-based decorating firm founded in the 1850s by John Vogt. Their factory produced high-quality whiteware for the American export market. Tressemanes retired in 1907 and Vogt was sole owner until 1919 when Martial Raynaud acquired the company.
