Golden Sheen Obsidian Necklace w/ Untreated Natural Citrine Crystal Point, Healing Crystals, Yellow hotsell Quartz in Copper, Black Obsidian Pendant
My passion is making handcrafted copper jewelry in my small.
My passion is making handcrafted copper jewelry in my small art studio. This Gold Sheen Obsidian and Natural Citrine point necklace is one of my favorite creations!
((Citrine point has the tiniest chip that is mostly only visible from the back. It's not something you'd see while wearing or may not even notice if I didn't tell you. Please see photos for details. This is considered hotsell in my pricing.
Crystals are organic material and may have imperfections. That's part of their unique beauty.))
I used Volcanic Glass at the top; it's one of the flashiest Golden Sheen Obsidian cabochons that I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
This form of natural Obsidian blows my mind with its witchery.
Have you seen it in person? It shifts from black to gold as you rotate it around in the light!
Regular black obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass that forms when lava cools rapidly. Sometimes gas bubbles align just right across the layers during formation, causing this incredible color shift in the crystal!
Gold Sheen Obsidian is said to bring abundance into your life.
Be open to receiving what is meant for you and then work hard to get it.
The base of this pendant is untreated Natural Citrine, which is a yellow version of Quartz. This natural mineral is known for its joyous sunny vibrations.
Handmade Citrine pendant measures approx. 4" tall and 1.81" at widest parts.
Gunmetal toned plated chain will be added at your desired length. Choose your selection from the drop down menu. Length includes clasp and jump rings. I only use durable materials that look good and feel good on the skin. Keep chain dry. Copper on pendant will never rust, but the chain could rust if left moist since it's plated. Colors vary by monitor.
How did I create this handmade gemstone jewelry? I electroformed my piece in copper, using a little bit of electricity and a lot of magic. There are many steps and hours of work put into every piece that I create. Each piece of handmade copper jewelry is truly a labor of love :)
My handcrafted and prepped items hang in an electrobath, collecting copper, molecule by molecule for 17-36 hours; this giving my adornments strength and unique texture. If you are new to electroforming, please keep reading to the end of this description to learn more about this ancient metal-transferring technique!
I also document my processes on Instagram.

When you wear this necklace, you don't have to worry about anyone else wearing the same thing, it is one of a kind! No piece could ever be made exactly the same; Crystals vary just as much as how the copper forms during each plating session.
Once I electroformed this pendant I rapidly oxidized the copper with Liver of Sulfur, to pull out rich brown tones. You never know the color that will emerge when you patina copper; I've seen shades of green, brown, silver, black, red, and everything in between. I buffed the pendant with to give them a slight contrast. I sealed the copper with lacquer to give it a slight barrier from moisture and to help seal in the patina after my processes were finished. This lacquer will wear off seamlessly as you wear your jewelry.
Copper is known for reacting to its environment and changing color. It may lighten or darken with time. Keep it dry and do not wear in shower to avoid extra oxidization. Copper never rusts! (chains may be plated and could rust if left wet). Embrace the color changing effects of copper as you take it on life's adventures with you. Polishing cloth sample will be sent with your order for any future cleaning needs.
About My Pieces
All my crystals have been cleansed under the moonlight and charged in sunlight. These magical stones surround me in my studio, waiting to be chosen for my next piece of handmade jewelry. Good intentions flow through these crystals during the entire process before arriving to you. I believe crystals are a tool for us to use; they help us bring out the natural magic that resides inside us all. Intention is very powerful, and these beautiful pieces are designed to help you on your journey. I sage all my jewelry before shipment to cleanse it and to place good intentions inside for you! If you ever need specific intentions for your new crystals, please let me know.
If you have questions about my electroplating and electroforming techniques, please feel free to ask! This is an art form that has been around since the 1800's.
I have a secondary studio where I copper-plate my jewelry. To describe the process very quickly-- the plating process uses electricity to transfer jewelry-grade copper from sheet form, onto my crystal creations. It makes the jewelry extremely durable, beautiful, and one of a kind. Each time I electroform, the copper builds up differently. It collects and builds particle by particle, not uniformly, which gives it the textured look. It's science and jewelry design at its best! Again, please let me know if you have questions about my process. It's fascinating.
This usually only happens with rings, but if the pendant ever leaves you with a slight green line, (it can react to some people's skin PH level), this means the copper is giving you some needed love <3. Green easily washes off with soap and water. I will send a polishing cloth sample with your order. Copper may lighten or darken with time, as is its nature.
