Item 776 Handcrafted Hickory Wood Walking Stick, Staff, Hiking hotsell Stick, Trekking Pole made at Kentucky Naturally. Naturally grown in Western KY then whittled, carved, worked and finished by me, Johnny..or some know me as "Groover" or "Kentucky Johnny."

60 inches. About 4 inches around at neck of staff. This can be shortened from the bottom if different length is needed. Just mention this in comments at time of purchase.

You will have the option to have a leather strap added and I can add a handmade wooden bead or bead made from naturally shed deer antler.

Very sturdy and strong hiking or walking stick to help you along your way. This Hickory piece is another I found in woods out from a fence row here in Ballard County..in an area not many people get to. :-) but I try to hit it every once in awhile on one of my treasure hunts. It has a very attractive bark with its light to rich browns then on to very dark browns with hints of grey making an interesting look with its patterns. The wrinkles, curves, grooves and knots add to its character, beautiful lines in the bark, a nice texture and feel. Your hand will feel comfortable holding on at the neck of the stick; I like holding it just below the knot at the first slight bend at the neck not far from the top. I have used a light polyurethane gloss for protection and a little shine. This is a tall staff but I'd say medium weight for its height. Be sure to look at all pictures. Certainly heavy duty and a beautiful piece. If this is the right walking stick for you it will serve you well. It will also make a great gift for someone who could use a little extra support at times or who would just enjoy having a piece of nature close by. This piece will also be a good staff for plays or programs or look nice in that corner waiting for your next walk around the yard or next adventure.
