Product code: Vintage hotsell brown green obiage + obijime set

The obiage hotsell is in a brown and green silk bokashi (gradation) with woven repeating pattern that adds a very fine texture that is complemented with a woven gold thread creating a gold speckle. The obiage is decorated with a stenciled design of large stylized cherry blossoms (sakura) that are detailed with smaller blossoms in gold and silver perfectly complementing the copper-toned-brown and green base colors. The flat braided (hiragumi) obijime with a sasanamigumi style breading is in the same colors and bokashi (gradation) has a simple thick braided texture with some thicker braided and gold thread accents.

NOTE: Australia and New Zealand do not allow using/sending/importing wooden boxes/packaging. I will send the items without the box to these countries to avoid any customs issues.

An obiage is a long piece of fabric (sash) that is used to cover the obi-makura (pillow) when tying an obi. The obiage is worn tucked into the obi but it stays (slightly) visible. Since the obiage is visible at the top of the obi, it plays a part in color coordinating the kimono. An obiage can also be worn as a scarf.

An obijime is a mostly braided cord that is used when tying obi. It is a later addition to the standard set of items used when wearing a kimono. Initially a decoration it is also used to keep obi from unraveling and it plays an important part in (color) coordinating a kimono.
