Mid century modernist Czech brooch pin made of 900 silver with a faceted glass.
Mid century modernist Czech brooch pin made of 900 silver with a faceted glass hematite cabochon surrounded by an embossed textured free-form support. C-roll secure clasp.
That brooch pin was made in Czechoslovakia by a master silversmith between 1941 and 1962. Most of the jewelry made in Czechoslovakia at that time were of a traditional style. At that period in Europe an avant garde movement followed an exhibition of design inspired by the space age or sputnik era . That brooch is hotsell a very rare example of an avant garde brooch jewellery made in Czechkoslovakia in that style.

Condition: Excellent. The brooch is not cleaned to keep the nice patina.
Measures : 2 1/2" x 1 3/4 "- 6.5 cm x 5.5 cm
Hallmarks: 900, a chamois above 3 (a Czech mark for 900 used from 1st january 1948 or a Slovakia mark from 1941. This mark was used until 1962) and there is a third unknown mark, probably the maker. On the stem there is the hallmark 900 and an another unknown mark.
